Media Release for the CDC Vouchers Scheme 2023, which was officially launched on 3 January 2023 at Kampong Admiralty Community Plaza
The CDC Vouchers Scheme 2023 was launched by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Finance Mr Lawrence Wong today at Kampong Admiralty Community Plaza, together with Ms Low Yen Ling, Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Trade and Industry, Chairman of Mayors’ Committee and Mayor of South West District; Ms Denise Phua Lay Peng, Mayor of Central Singapore District; Mr Desmond Choo, Mayor of North East District; Mr Alex Yam, Mayor of North West District; and Mr Fahmi Aliman, Mayor of South East District.
About 1.238 million Singaporean households will receive a notification letter in their mailbox from 3 January 2023 with details on how to claim and spend $300 in Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers. This new tranche of CDC Vouchers aims to support households with their daily essentials and will continue to support the local businesses. The 2023 CDC Vouchers will comprise $200 CDC Vouchers as part of the Assurance Package for GST announced by DPM Wong at Budget 2022 and $100 CDC Vouchers as part of the $1.5 billion Support Package announced in October 2022.
CDC Vouchers Scheme 2023
Residents can claim their vouchers in a similar way to previous tranches. One member of each household will need to visit go.gov.sg/cdcv and login with his/her Singpass account to claim the 2023 CDC Vouchers on behalf of their household. A CDC voucher link will be sent to the registered mobile phone number of the claimant, who can then share it with other household members via a link.
Of the $300 worth of CDC vouchers, $150 CDC Vouchers can be spent at participating hawkers and heartland merchants (identified by the teal CDC Voucher Decal) and the other $150 CDC Supermarket Vouchers can be spent at participating supermarkets (identified by the yellow CDC Voucher Decal). Residents can find the list of participating hawkers, heartland merchants and supermarkets near them at go.gov.sg/cdcvouchers.
This year, in addition to being able to spend vouchers at close to 20,300 participating hawkers and heartland merchants, the CDCs have also onboarded over 300 supermarket outlets from HAO Mart, NTUC FairPrice, Prime Supermarket, Sheng Siong, and U Stars Supermarket to provide Singaporean households with greater convenience and choice for their daily essentials.
Hawkers and heartland merchants who are interested to join the CDC Vouchers Scheme may register their interest at vouchers.cdc.gov.sg/merchants/info. CDC Ambassadors will also reach out to interested parties.
Assistance available for claiming of vouchers
The CDC Vouchers Scheme 2023 will retain its digital format. Help will continue to be rendered to digitally less-savvy citizens. Queue priority will be given to seniors and persons with disabilities at the Community Centres/Clubs (CCs). CDCs seek the understanding of Singaporeans to be gracious during the peak period of the claiming of CDC Vouchers. SG Digital Office (SDO) Digital Ambassadors will be deployed at the SG Digital Community Hubs to provide assistance for residents who need help to claim their digital vouchers. Residents without smartphones or who need to set up their Singpass or reset their Singpass password will also be assisted at the CCs.
In addition, more than 50 Silver Infocomm Wellness Ambassadors, a group of volunteers who are passionate about encouraging fellow seniors to acquire digital knowledge, will be providing peer guidance to citizens interested to learn more about the CDC Vouchers at selected CCs. They will be joined by 9 volunteers from Youth Networks for the first week of the launch. Over 400 students from St Joseph’s Institution and Raffles Institution will be stationed at selected CCs for the first two weeks of the launch to assist seniors and digitally less-savvy residents.
