Support for Singaporean Households
Announced as part of the $1.9 billion enhancement to the Assurance Package during Budget 2024, there will be an additional of $600 in CDC Vouchers for all Singaporean households – to be disbursed in June 2024 and January 2025 respectively. The additional $300 CDC Vouchers in June provides immediate support to alleviate daily expenses for Singaporean households. Similar to previous tranches, the CDC Vouchers 2024 (June) have been allocated equally – $150 of CDC Vouchers to be spent at participating hawkers and heartland merchants, and another $150 to be spent at participating supermarkets.
Support for Heartland Merchants
The nationwide digital scheme, now in its fifth tranche, also aims to invigorate the businesses of participating hawkers and heartland merchants, providing them with an additional boost to their revenue. The five CDCs continue to provide support to hawkers and heartland merchants in their onboarding to the scheme to ensure that they are able to accept the voucher transactions smoothly.
This tranche has approximately 23,000 participating hawkers and heartland merchants and CDCs are continuing to onboard more. In addition, there are eight participating supermarkets comprising 415 outlets island-wide, ensuring Singaporeans have access to a broad selection of daily essentials and services. Residents can also search for participating hawkers, heartland merchants and supermarkets near them at go.gov.sg/cdcvouchers.
Similar process of claiming and spending CDC Vouchers
From 25 June 2024, Singaporean households will receive a notification letter via mail on how to claim and spend their $300 CDC Vouchers 2024 (June). This process remains similar to previous tranches where only one household member is required to visit go.gov.sg/cdcv and log in with their Singpass to claim the digital vouchers on behalf of the household.
Upon claiming, the applicant will receive an SMS with their unique voucher link from "RedeemSG" (before 1 July) or "gov.sg" (from 1 July onwards) to the applicant's registered mobile number, which can then be shared with other household members. The SMS links for CDC Vouchers 2024 (January) and CDC Vouchers 2024 (June) are different, and both sets of vouchers are valid until 31 December 2024.
Participating hawkers and heartland merchants can be identified by the teal CDC voucher decal, while participating supermarkets can be identified by the yellow CDC voucher decal. Alternatively, residents can also find the list of participating businesses near them at go.gov.sg/cdcvouchers.
Continued support for digitally less-savvy
The June 2024 tranche of digital CDC Vouchers continues to offer residents a convenient way to claim and spend their vouchers. For those facing difficulties with the digital claiming process, help will be available at Community Centres/Clubs (CCs) and SG Digital Community Hubs. Seniors and people with disabilities will receive priority queueing at CCs. Additionally, CCs will assist residents who lack smartphones or require Singpass setup or password resets. The CDCs kindly request Singaporeans for their patience and understanding during the peak period of claiming CDC Vouchers.
For the first two weeks after the launch, the CDCs will be engaging close to 240 youth and student volunteers from People Association’s Youth Networks (YN), and schools such as ITE College East, ITE College West, ITE College Central, Nanyang Junior College (JC), Singapore Management University, Tampines Meridian JC, Temasek Polytechnic, Hwa Chong Institution and Ngee Ann Polytechnic, who will be stationed at selected CCs, together with CDC Ambassadors, to help Singaporeans through the claiming process. From 25 June to 8 July 2024, SG Digital Office (SDO) Digital Ambassadors and about 50 Silver Infocomm Wellness Ambassadors will also be deployed at CCs to provide assistance for residents who need help to claim their digital vouchers. SDO will organise daily CDC Voucher Learning Journeys at these locations to provide hands-on learning for residents to use the digital CDC Vouchers.
